I have a thing about using black and brown together. It makes a pretty
smokey eye. And for some silly reason,
i've always liked matte more than shimmers....
Shimmers are messy..? Hopefully, I'll come around liking it.

what I used
I've noticed that when using NYX black eyeshadow, I have smudges faster in comparison to using
CS black eyeshadow.
Tip: When you damp the brush with water, it intensifies the color when applied.
PLUS after doing so, I didn't have to clear out the smudges that'd appear without
damping the brush.
