Hey guys just wondering if you could write which mineral makeup you have tried, how much coverage it gives, if it looked natural, and if you liked it.

Have used the loose powder minerals...Bare Minerals...depending on how many coats, you can get good coverage. I have to say I luv the light weight feel of minerals but I HATE the messiness. It gets all over my shirt, counter top and in my sink. It's not something that I can apply in my car or on-the-go.

I did try a pressed mineral blush by Kou Naturals that I really like...and it's less messy... The blush from Kou looks very natural on me...sort of pink and peachy yellow. I have yet to try their foundations.

I have used bare minerals too. It gave me good coverage but it looked bad after a couple of hours. I then just tried silk naturals but I don't know if it's me or the makeup but my face gets really oily and the concealer doesn't cover as well

I haven't tried bare minerals yet. Right now, I use Sheer Cover and I love it. I chose this one over Bare Minerals, because Sheer Cover comes with a concealer cream. I love the concealer cream and I'm going to order more later. It doesn't make me break out, which is so important. I can't wear liquids. I use their primer and finishing powder which I think makes all the difference. It's ashame how the Sheer Cover people do not include it in their starter kit. Thats how they lose customers. As for coverage, I have scars on my right cheek, so I use more concealer cream, which works wonders for me. I do not use enough that it's completey gone, but nobody really looks that close up to my skin anyways. I'm pretty happy with Sheer Cover. I know not a lot of people are fans. I have struggled with acne throughout my life and my skin has not been angered. If you apply it right, it will look great.

I posted a very unpopular thread on this, maybe you will find it a little helpful.

Sheer Cover is pretty cheap to try. $40 USD will get you their starter kit. I like their mascara that comes with the kit lol... maybe I'll order another...

I've tried 3 brands. Sheer Cover, Bare Minerals, and then Everyday Minerals, which is what I'm using now. If you don't want to use a product with bismuth, there are a lot of options out there on the net.

I'm giving silk naturals a try after alienman did her post on it - I like it! It's very light and it doesn't feel like I have anything on at all. I found the coverage wasn't that great but I think if I took the time to build it up it would be better but I actually liked that - it looked like I didnt have anything on but made my skin look more even and not so sallow. I found it better to put on concealer BEFORE applying though, since it applied a bit weird after...it's definitely messier than liquid foundation but time-wise I found it quicker - you don't have to spend so much time blending.

if you look around online, there are quite a few sites that have little sample kits for either free or for a few dollars so you can order a few different types and see what you like. everyday minerals has a pretty generous sized sample kit that's FREE so it doesn't hurt to try that. And i'd like to recommend their long handled kabuki brush. it's very soft and easy to work with and you will need something to apply the foundation with. i use the bottom of the handle to tap out some of the product onto a little sauce dish since the lids are too small to use for that purpose. i just got my silk naturals sample today which was only a few dollars + shipping. I've only applied it once and it was under artificial lighting so i'm not sure if i mixed up a good match but it's something that you customize to your own shade. (they give you white powder and colored powder and you mix to get your shade). i'll update once i've worn it a few more times in different lighting. :D

BareMinerals: Too expensive. Also, their brushes really irritate my sensitive skin. The coverage is pretty good but none of their colors matched exactly how I wanted, nor did they have much variety in the colors. Also, it feels heavy, like you're wearing foundation. The bismuth surprisingly doesn't break me out but I still want to avoid it just b/c of what I've heard about it. From what I can tell, they don't offer samples.

Everyday Minerals: Very decent pricing and an impressive selection in shades and formulas. However, NONE of the formulas gave me the coverage I need, even after layers and layers, and they pretty much melted off my skin in about two hours. I do, however, love their blushes and I'm eager to try out some of their other eye shadows. The customer service is wonderful, too. They really do take the time to respond to your e-mails. Free samples (three shades of your choice) are offered (you pay shipping) and they last quite a while.

Silk Naturals: I want to cradle it in my sleep. Even though I haven't had need for it b/c I'm experimenting w/BB creams right now, I'm sooooooooooooooooooo tempted to buy a new batch. The full sample cost plus shipping is equal to the free sample plus shipping of Everyday Minerals. The sample will last a while, too. At first, the idea of having to mix your own shade is quite daunting, but you'll find it surprisingly easy. Thus, you can't go wrong w/"a wrong color". It's light and your skin looks naturally healthier. Having silk powder in its ingredients is a plus. Coverage lasted all day and I never had to retouch. I never get to say that about any other makeup (except my Lioele BB cream).

UPDATE! so I tried it again and maybe it was my face wash or something making my skin dry, but I love silk naturals! Unfortunately I am always trying to look for something better. Maybe my next purchase will be from everyday minerals.
