I've never had to lose any weight, but I'd suggest diet & workout.

    **diet and exercise, hands down.

    1)consume TONS of fiber!
it’ll make u feel fuller and help you go to the bathroom to be able to get out the stuff faster.

2)Eat lean meat and tons of veggies and fruits.
you really have to. as general as that advice is, you have to, but don’t overeat on healthy foods either. You still can gain weight if you overeat healthy foods. I usually like to munch on low-calorie cereal and it gives you nutrition as well.

    3)eliminate soda from your diet.
there is SO MUCH sugar that converts straight to fat after. even if the soda says no-calorie, it really isn’t the case. there still are hidden splenda and all that which aren’t that great for your health.

    4)drink plenty of water!!!
not only will this help your body, but it’ll help your skin too. i saw on Oprah that Dr. Oz mentioned that most of the time when we feel that we are hungry, we actually aren’t. We are actually thirsty for water. our body doesn’t know how to communicate with us well so when it needs something, we automatically end up thinking we’re hungry when we’re actually thirsty.

    5)just walk/jog
ANY movement is good.just, move! lol. it is recommended that an individual gets at least 20-30 min. a day of walking exercise, whether it be walking, light jogging, running etc. take the staircase instead of the elevator and escalator when possible. my friend’s mom lost 25lbs off of walking all day at the mall. but that was 25lbs in one year’s length, NOT in a few weeks. also, when my family and i were on vacation, my mom lost 10 lbs in a week while we went to europe because we CONSTANTLY were walking and drinking nothing but WATER. and the 10lbs weren’t water weight. my mom’s clothes were actually getting loose and she was needing to use a belt.

    6) be VERY patient with results
my mom has been dieting lately(yes she gained back the weight she lost from that europe trip cuz she didnt' maintain constant exercise and water), with of course, cheating on desserts though. but other than that, she has increased her exercise tremendously but cannot really lose weight. she will see results if you continuously exercise. same for everyone. it takes time for your body to adjust. and 3500 calories= 1lb of fat, so thats a lotta calories to burn.

hope that helped! and hope i didn’t overload on talking x.x just wanted to help!

To successfully lose weight and keep it off, one must do all that I’m listing (in order of importance):

∙ Diet correctly - meaning you’re consuming a sufficient amount of calories each day of healthy foods. Not eating enough will cause your body to retain more bodyfat as a survival mechanism. And eating too much....well, that’s obvious. Having a defined, "toned" body is a function of good diet more than anything else. Not exercise.

∙ Resistance training - Contrary to the very popular myth, lifting weights (even heavy weights) WILL NOT make you "bulky". Really building muscle takes a TON of time and hard work. The only way one would bulk up would be if he/she were taking steroids and consuming an excess number of calories a day for a long period of time.

∙ Cardiovascular training - Good stuff. Just do it.

And another thing....don’t use the scale as your primary source of tracking your progress. You’re way better off using bodyfat calipers, mirrors, the way clothes fit, and/or progress pictures.

Basic rule of losing weight is using more calories than you consume. I've heard that 1 hr of exercise maintains weight and 1.5 hrs helps you lose weight. Also, remember that you cannot do spot exercises (ex: targeting your arms). You will lose fat generally where you have the most fat deposit.
Don't freak out when you see that the scale went up after exercising, muscle is heavier than fat. You should base losing weight on your Body Mass Index rather than by lbs.
With that said.. I'm off to the gym = P

oh and I don't suggest any diet pills at all. Some of those junk are just like 20 cups of coffees' caffeine concentrated in a little pill. There's a new FDA approved weight loss pill called Alli, but I've seen an in-depth report on that and I wouldn't take it. It essentially stops fat from being absorbed. All that fatty oil not absorbed in your tummy comes out your rear in..well.. wet farts? Any fat blocker pill will also keep you from absorbing vitamins A, D, E, and K which could hurt you in the long run.

Well..I think pills is not a good idea..I think a good weigh to lose weight is to have a healthy relationship with food. And of course exercise too. You should watch your portions...it seems like in the u.s....well atleast in california...the food portions at restaurants and stuff is to give you TONS of food...and if your like me you tend to eat it all...which means ur overeating. i say eat when ur hungry...and be mindful of portions and what ur putting in ur body. for example..instead of eating that mcdee cheeseburger and a soda...maybe u could get a turkey sandwhich and water and some fruit or something. Also if u get cravings...wait about 15-30 minutes and ur craving will be gone. Learn to love food...not have a love hate relationship with it.

Just Run...lol or Swim... they are both good, anything that is cardiovascular work out will make you lose weight the fastest if you have the weight to lose.

i don't really go and try to lose weight. but i had a friend in secondary school who became more self conscious after liking a girl ... what he did was to run and swim on alternate days and had smaller meal portion. he was very disciplined and he lost about 5-10kg in 3-4weeks if i remember corrrectly.

what i really suggest is to exercise and have a balanced meal or eat whatever you want but in moderation. you may want to have 6 small meals instead of 3 meals per day. this works better i think. skipping meals because you think you will not gain any weight is not right..in actuality when you do that continuously, your body will go into 'starvation mode' and will store the food you eat after that as fats. instead control what you eat.

and oh never ever take those slimming pills! there is definitely side effects! these side effects may not show up now.. but in later years they surely will.

i agree with Puma too on how you shouldnt use the weighing scale as a progress check... seeing how your body tones up and how you fit into your clothes is much better way.

My mom and my sister dieted together a year ago and both lost a good amount of weight. They probably went a size or two down. The only thing they did was cut back on the rice eaten throughout the day, was choosy with dishes they ate, and cut back on snacking, and changed to 1% milk.

My sister also plays tennis so that may have to do with it...

You may want to try eating multiple small meals a day instead of three large meals (I'm assuming here..). Also don't over-eat, many people eat everything in front of them not realizing they are already full. And don't eat too close to bedtime.

And maybe try recording everything you eat so you can go back and realize what you're eating too much of, or what's unhealthy? Just an idea.
