I've heard of a bunch and there's a ton to choose from, but I just want a simple sideswept bangs cut for not too expensive. Anyone know a good salon that preferably works with asian hair?
I know this is late but I'm replying anyways. I went to a Korean salon called Kim Sun Young and they did an AWESOME job on my hair--for only $40! I'm sure they will charge less if all you want is sideswept bangs. But Kim Sun Young in NYC is the best haircut I've ever had so far. Everything was blended perfectly, it wasn't thinned out too much, and I didn't have to wait for my haircut to be 'broken in' to look good. I wish I still lived in NYC.
One place I want to warn you about is Hair Mates in the East Village. It's a Japanese salon, they charge about $65? They do a good shampoo (have to tip shampoo guy separate) but what's the point if the cut looks bad? My hair was thinned out so much! It's just an average salon so please don't waste your money there. I would've went back to Kim Sun Young to fix it but I had no hair left to 'fix.'
I hope this helps if you're looking for an asian salon in the future...I'm sure you probably had your bangs cut by now--I'm interested to know where you ended up going and how you liked it!
Thanks!! Haha and I got my haircut in Chinatown a few months ago, but I'm due for anther haircut soon! I'll definitely take your suggestions into consideration :)
