I'm serious. Reach down and grab your socks, because they are about to be BLOWN AWAY!
Alright, so I showed my disappointing gray holo polish in my last post - pretty color, kinda marble-like, but no holographic effect at all. Today I was browsing Ulta, and lookin' for some bargains. (They have a lot of BOGOF sales going on, btw.) I came across a Cover Girl polish called City Lights, priced quite reasonably at $3.99.
I'm sure you all know why it drew me in: because it's sparkly, and I like shiny things. I also picked up 2 Ulta eyeshadows ($7) because they were BOGOF, but that's another story.
The really awesome part: I brought all my items up to the register and the total came out to be... $5.82. How? Apparently the Cover Girl polish was marked down to $1.99 (mystery sale?!) and the cashier was kind enough to scan in a $3.50 off coupon on top of that. Seriously, I think that was the best bargain I've ever had. Ever. Basically I paid half price for everything and then proceeded to get another 32% off. My Asian bargain-hunting genes are unstoppable.
ANYWAY, before I digress further, I would again like to remind you to hold onto your socks before exposing your eyeballs to the picture below. I got home and took off the disappointing gray Pumpkin polish (though I kept the Sally Hansen Opulent Cloud on) and proceeded to apply black polish with 2 layers of the Cover Girl City Lights on top of it. The result:
(This is 2 coats of Sally Girl Poser with 2 coats of Cover Girl City Lights, and 1 layer of Seche Vite.)
Seriously, that's it. I'm done. I don't think I can buy anymore nail polishes now, because nothing will ever be able to top this. It's almost as if I've doubled my nail polish collection just by buying this. My god, I can't WAIT to put this over Sally Hansen Emerald City. How incredibly blingy will that be?!
I'm pretty sure this is the best nail polish I have ever bought. I think I'm gonna need like, 10 backups. |

| I realize that not all of you read my blog, so I figured I should post over here as well. In short: I made my own oil cleanser (similar to Shu Uemura's overpriced version) at home. I've tested out the formula, and it works awesome. It takes off all traces of my makeup, and it rinses clean. I personally feel much better about using my homemade version for three reasons:
1.) it's cheaper (per ounce, at least - at ~$1/oz versus $5/oz)
2.) my ingredients are better (I use a blend of sunflower seed, rice bran, jojoba and grapeseed oils - Shu's formula is mostly mineral oil. I refuse to pay $28/bottle for something that is approximately 85% mineral oil.)
3.) mine smells better. I added in lemongrass essential oil so it smells... well, lemony.
I know that not everyone is familiar with cleansing oils, since they're not really something that has caught on in the US. Basically, it's an oil you massage onto your DRY face to break down and dissolve your makeup, and then you rinse it off with water. I made a 2 minute video with my homemade blend showing how I use it to take off waterproof liner and mascara. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xngYMGGredY
(Haha, I hope you enjoy the polka music.)
I'm thinking about selling samples of my homemade blend (2oz sample, you just cover the cost of shipping and supplies) because I have WAY too much of the stuff to use in any reasonable time frame. I figured I'd post on here to gauge possible interest, so I can get an idea of how many bottles to order! If it turns out to be as popular as I think it is (because I personally think it's awesome, but I might be a bit biased), I'm going to look into selling 8oz bottles of the stuff. To give you an idea, 8 ounces should last you about 6 months, assuming 1x daily usage.
NOTE: I am NOT responsible if your skin doesn't agree with it. I haven't had any problems with it, and it doesn't make me break out. I also took the time to read through all the MSDS sheets of all the ingredients I used, and I know they're all skin-friendly and safe. However, I can't promise this will give you perfect skin and shrink your pores, or have any anti-aging effects. It'll just take off your makeup. You may or may not want to use a regular facial cleanser after this - I don't, and don't think it's necessary - but some people do. |

| Hey y'alls,
I can't help it, but I find that slutty posing for the camera is deeply disturbing... disturbing in the sense that I don't even find it remotely sexy or attractive... I think it's HIDEOUS... why would you want to project yourself in such a way???
I know this is going to cause alotta drama, but this is MY opinion and I don't give a shit about what you guys think about me, because I'm so awesome that I don't need your validation. And I know there are a few of you who agree with me anyway!
Fake drawn-in brows, too much eyeshadow, constantly-pouting lips, unnaturally enormous eyelashes, and boobs hanging out everywhere... ugh, I don't get what's so great about looking so TRASHY. Most of the time they can't even get the camera at a proper straight-on angle! How do you find this attractive? HONESTLY!!!!
Toodles! XOXOXO <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
[Seriously though: hi ABB. Hope you know how to take a joke.] |
